Abstract

All over the world, Confucius Institutes have been established with the aim of promoting the Chinese language and culture, as well as intercultural communication. Along with the deepening of cooperation between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fields of technology, tourism, infrastructure construction, medicine and so on, there was a need for the citizens of both countries to better understand each other’s culture, and in this direction the establishment of the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka was initiated. This research is directed towards the analysis of the previous work of the Confucius Institute of the University of Banja Luka, i.e. achievements and problems he faced in his development. The aim of the research is to acquire professional knowledge in order to share experiences and lessons with other Confucius Institutes, i.e. in order to improve their work as a global platform for the promotion of intercultural communication in the future.
